DeCentral Market

I am really excited about the idea of de-centralization. I believe that it could be a new alternative through technology to many of the challenges that we face beyond the general challenges of personal e-commerce.

I am working on an idea for a new, decentralized Web service, that I am calling DeCentral Market for now. This would be a software infrastructure for an online market, similar to Amazon. The difference would be that it would all be decentralized and open-source. I would be looking for a software developer to partner with for the initial development, and we would share "ownership" of the service 50/50. Once it is posted, we would follow a standard open-source process for updated code implementation. As the platform is built, each developer whose code is implemented would gain "ownership" in the form of the percent of the platform that they developed.

There would be a small membership fee (something like $1.00 per month), and members would be able to shop the market. The market would either have its own crypto-currency, or be based upon the Etherium currency. I haven't figured that part out yet. Members can also list products for sale as well, and that would have a monthly cost per product (not per item). So if I sold watches, each brand/model would be a separate product, but I could sell 1 - infinity of one brand/model of watch for one fee. This fee would also be low (perhaps something like $1.00 as well).

The fees would be spread among the "owners" and the transactions would be between the buyers and the sellers. All transactions, and the software itself would be implemented through blockchain. This is why I am looking at Etherium, as it has a functional development language that would allow software to be implemented in this way. There would be no central servers or hosting to worry about. It would be like a global shopping mall and flea market all rolled into one!

I think that this would also be a place that content creators, like YouTube channels or indie bands, indie movie creators, artists, writers or anyone could post their content and monetize it.
